Twelve Weeks Tomorrow

Yesterday, we went for our 12 week check up. Things have been fine thus far, so it was a quick and easy visit. The nurse practitioner was attempting to hear the heartbeat through the hand-held Doppler instrument. Yet, it just sounded like there was a thunder storm in my stomach. I was a tad bit concerned because we couldn't hear a heartbeat so we got to do another ultrasound. This picture looks more like a baby! (I will try to scan it over the weekend and add it!) The baby was even waving at us! :) She seems to think it may be a girl but we won't know for sure until December 6th!!! :) I'm looking forward to that visit! The next visit is November 20th where I get to drink this nice red liquid for the glucose screening for gestational diabetes.
Mom and I went to the mall last night and mom bought me a few things from Motherhood Maternity. I think I might like maternity pants better than my normal dress pants...I'm liking that elastic! We got the baby a halloween outfit that says I want my Mummy and a 1st Halloween bib for next year! Last week, we got some State booties from Mike & Gwen! :) I can't wait to get more State stuff for the baby! Cheerleader or Football player?? :)
Off to do some laundry and clean a little before our trip to Nashville, TN for Cheryl & Roger's wedding next weekend! :)

An increased sense of smell

I hate smelling things. Aaron smells things for fun. You might have heard me say that I don't notice bad breath or close smells because I "turn off my sniffer." Seriously! This morning at church, I could NOT turn off my sniffer. I was sitting next to Heather Losee and found myself focusing on the smell of her cough drop, and it was strong. Aaron had no idea why I thought her cough drop was so strong. It's actually a common symptom in pregnant women! :) I hope this increased sense of smell doesn't cause any sickness!

10 Weeks and 5 days

I survived Fall Retreat...I packed my body pillow and I shared a HUGE blowup mattress with Jennifer (who is also pregnant). With curfew at 1am and wake ups around 7:30am, I spent Saturday afternoon restin'/nappin'. I used the bathroom twice a night where I had to move around in the dark and walk outside in the freezing cold to the bathroom. With all that said, I have been tired all week! (Not really any different I don't guess!) Tuesday night, I went to the fair with Meredith girls. I tried to eat "healthy"--ha! I had a roasted corn, dill pickle and a fried reece's cup. I got in some good walking too! :) I made it home by 10pm which was not too bad for sleeping purposes.
This morning I had my first experience with morning sickness--yes, I threw up. It wasn't fun while trying to get ready for school. As the day went on, I got better. I plan to curl up on the couch or in bed around 7pm, if not earlier. I am looking forward to finishing the first trimester so I can get some more energy!

Almost 10 Weeks

I will be out of town this weekend at Fall Retreat which includes sleeping on an air mattress, no bathrooms in the building, tons of teenagers and NO SLEEP! I've been exhausted more than normal this week so I will update on Sunday or Monday!

9 Weeks Today

The pregnancy is much more exciting when people know! I've enjoyed getting email responses back from friends about the pregnancy. Last Monday, we told our homeroom and they were excited. My classes (which are mainly freshman) weren't as excited as the Senior class. Many of these students we taught back in the day or worked with at homecoming. Every day a new person was finding out at school. Wednesday was Super Hero Day for Spirit Week and I made a shirt that said "Super Mom To Be" and thats how a few more people found out. The big questions were: "Is it a boy or a girl?", "Do you want a boy or a girl?" and "What are you going to name the baby?". My response has been I want a healthy baby. Students don't like that response so I say that girls have really cute clothes! :) Aaron told a few students he wants someone to throw the football with and I told him girls can catch and throw too! This week we (well I) have a boy and a girl name that I like. I told someone at church on Sunday that we need to post a list of names being considered in the next 9 months so no one takes someone's babies name. (There are 10 ladies in the church pregnant right now!)

It was nice sleeping till 10am today! Last week was tiring. At church, I wanted to sit down during congregation singing because I was getting tired. Volleyball will be over this month and more sleep will be on my agenda. One night last week, I enjoyed heartburn at 3:30am but that's about it. Praise the Lord for still no sickness. Yesterday, I got a craving for some school pizza for lunch. haha! It was sooo good. :)

Well, off to wrestle with some more laundry and then Brooke(& Adam)'s Baby Shower!
