More pictures with pumpkins

This afternoon, we went out in search again of a "pumpkin patch". This was the other one I found on a website that was in Johnston County. And it actually was a pumpkin patch!! On the weekends, they do hayrides to the patch so today we had to hike there! :P Along the way, we found some cute places for pictures and fed some goats and a donkey.

Carter is sooo sweet!

And super cute in his State hat! :)

Luckily we found a grandma with her grandson in the patch to take our picture because there was nooo where the set up the timer! :P

Lunch with Julie & the Fair...

Carter and I met up with my best friend from high school Julie for (a cheap!!) lunch on Saturday during her fall break. Carter and I felt special that Julie would take a break from studying to hang out with us! She's currently in graduate school at Duke...is it grad school or PA school? And I don't have a clue if there's technically a difference! :P

Then on Sunday, we went to the fair after church. We got there around 11:15...nice benefit to attending first service! :P I just knew Carter would stay awake the whole time to enjoy the fair since he refused to sleep all last week during the day but of COURSE he ended up napping. Therefore, we didn't get lots of fun pictures but we did our best while he was awake. It was a little difficult to get pictures with him looking at the camera since there were so many people trying to walk in front of the camera.

Nap Battles...More Veggies...Football...

This week has been a battle at nap time. Carter insists on going all day without a nap. Oddly enough, he remains in a decent mood but its still tough. I feel like I don't get anything accomplished!

We've moved on in our veggie menu...Carter's had green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots and squash. He likes them all and sucks them all down! :P After peas, we are adding fruits!

We went to the State game on Thursday night without Carter. We enjoy taking him to games with us but it was fun to get rowdy in the stands without him. Its also nice to travel light too!

A couple weeks ago, we went to the Clayton/West Football game and hung out with a lot of kids from the youth group. Clayton and West are rivals and we have a lot kids from church at both schools.

The Fam at the Clayton/West Game

Of course, we had to wait till after the game to see our favorite West player...My little Drew! :) I've known Drew since he was 5...now he's a senior!!

This weekend, we are meeting Julie for lunch and going to the fair! :) Check back for more pictures! :P

For Halloween, Carter's gonna be a...

penguin!
He is soo cute in his costume and he was all smiles in it!

Our little pumpkin

Yesterday after a restful afternoon and a tough panthers loss, we went out in search a pumpkin patch. I had read of one online that was a couple miles from our house but it was more of a roadside stand. So we stopped anyway & took some pictures!

The pictures turned out ok...I want to find another patch for some more pictures soon! :)

How strong is gold???

Seriously?
Today, I was picking up something off the floor and the onyx of my Meredith ring go caught on the drawer on the stove. Well, my hand kept moving and the ring broke! Seriously! I am still in shock! If you look at the picture, you can see the ring stretched out & separated at the bottom...it even pinched my finger and my finger swelled a little.

They will replace it for free if it is defective but I have to pay if it is damaged. I would have to say that gold is defective!!

My new obsession...

Coupons!
I always do my grocery shopping at Walmart but last week Lowes Foods kept calling my name. I decided I’d go there last Thursday and only buy coupon items since Lowes doubles everyday up to 20 coupons. While checking out, a former student told me that next week {which is now this week} would be triple coupons! I shared this news with a few ladies at church via facebook and by the end of the day the whole world knew! :) I decided I better get organized so I could get the most of my money! I went to savvydollar.org and found lots of deals. Several people helped to compile a list so you could see items that were on sale and items you could get for free! I was getting excited! Well, the sale started on Wednesday so on Tuesday I was ready to go. Jennifer gave me her notebook to get all my coupons organized and I had my list all typed out ready to go. Tuesday night, I dreamed of coupons all night!!! Carter decided he wanted to wake up at 5am and not go back to sleep so we headed to Lowes at 7am. I was nervous but there was maybe 8 cars in the whole parking lot! I ended up getting $95 worth of groceries for $30!!!

I went back again today and got $50 worth for $18! So that’s $145 worth for $48!!! I'm pretty impressed with myself...being a newbie & all! :P

Happy 5 month Birthday Carter!

Can you believe Carter is 5 months old already?? I haven't had a chance to do the at home weight method but I will update it soon!

Here's how Carter fell asleep today...

Then I moved him to his bed & he refused to go to sleep...so I moved him to the swing. Aaron has been sick since Saturday so I was thinking maybe Carter prefers to sleep sitting up today. Thirty minutes later...

He was sleeping while breaking his neck!

:)

A Few New Happenings…
--Greenbeans…He seems content when he eats them. I haven’t seen any smiles yet. I picked greenbeans first since they are my favorite. I’ll let Aaron pick veggie #2!

--Rolling over…both ways! This is a pretty new thing. Carter used to prefer only tummy to back…but now will do both and multiple times!
--Playing with his feet
--Raspberries
--Loves to hear me sing!
--Loves splashing in the tub
--Hates trying to sit up! & normally spits up

I have got to get better at posting...so it doesn't take so long to post in the future! Geeez...when am I gonna learn??

Jobs, No baby & State game...

In September, I filled in a few times at the SLC (Sonshine Learning Center--daycare) at our church. The summer before I started teaching I worked as an administrative assistant there. Now that they know I am staying home, they’ve asked me to help out some. It’s nice because they let me take Carter and its some extra $!
Speaking of extra money, my mom found me a way to make some! I am now an advisor for lia sophia jewelry. Check out liasophia.com. Let me know if you are interested in anything…and/or if you’d like to host a party! lia Sophia has great specials & hostess benefits. Maybe I’ll post all about that later…so at the end of September I had my first show…and got paid $303!!! : D That was pretty exciting! I did a show this past Sunday and will get paid $148! : D Thanks Mom & Aunt Deborah!!!

We had our first full weekend without Carter at the end of September. We chaperoned a trip to South Carolina with our youth group. We had a good time but did miss Carter. I am so glad he did so well for my parents!

Carter enjoyed another Wolfpack game aside from the ridiculous high school coaches next to us. He slept during the 2nd quarter and was awake and happy pretty much the entire day! On a stinky note, our car got towed at the game…we were parked in an apartment parking lot…and it cost $150 CASH to get our car back! Luckily my parents live 10 minutes from the stadium so mom got some $ and came and picked us up. Thanks Mom!

Carter's Baby Dedication

September 21st was Carter’s baby dedication at Church. Those in attendance were my parents (Derrick had to work), my grandma (papa had just had shoulder surgery), Aaron’s parents, Aaron’s grandparents, Ryan, Ashley & Cooper, Rachel, Adam & Aunt Deborah. Carter did well…he seemed a bit unsure of Pastor Brian so he doesn’t look too happy in the pictures. We then had lunch at my favorite place that just opened in Garner…TGI Friday’s! :) On Saturday of that weekend, Aaron’s family came into town and we had dinner at our house and took them to the hoppin’ Clayton Harvest Festival to stroll the babies. It was nice to have lots of family together for the weekend!
